  • Letter from the Kane Co Sheriff's Dept!!!
    From: kcso@kanab.net
    15 December 2009
    Dear Cindy and Sheryll,
I was forwarded your e-mails in reference to rumors of burglaries that have been
occurring on Cedar Mountain. I can confirm that we have investigated approximately 15-17 burglaries in your area (Swains Creek to Navajo Lake) over the
    past couple of months.
We have increased patrols in the area and have been aggressively investigating
several leads. Just last week, I sent detectives to Cedar City to interview a group of
young men that confessed to entering about 8 to 10 cabins in various locations for
the purpose of stealing alcohol. During the process, they admitted to stealing some
electronics as well. They are currently being charged.
The second set of leads we have been following up on have led us down a much more
complex road. It seams that there is a person or group out of Las Vegas that has hit
several cabins where more expensive items have been taken. I have assigned two
investigators to this case. They have been working with Las Vegas Metro and have
been making significant headway. They have scheduled trips to Vegas where they
are expecting to gather significant evidence that will hopefully result in charges.
We have not have any reports of burglaries for the past two weeks.
Please let everyone know that it is a great help to write down serial numbers of
electronics and guns. Without serial numbers, these items are nearly impossible to
track. If people see anything suspicious, please get a vehicle description and license
number. Even a partial number with a vehicle description can be a great help. If
they can also get a general description of the people everything helps.
    Thanks,
    Chief Deputy Tracy Glover
    Kane County Sheriff's Office
